You use your mouth for evil and harness your tongue to deceit.

Witchcraft is notorious for sowing deceit.

The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9). Deceit is found in the heart of men. The seeds of deceit are sown in the hearts of men, and they produce fruit. The heart itself is deceitful and desperately wicked. The language is so vivid, it speaks for itself. “Desperately wicked” speaks of a life on its own, wanting more wickedness, as it feeds on it. The heart of a wicked man breathes wickedness. This is what Paul refers to wickedness in high places. The imaginations of the man. There are people that find strength in wickedness. We are not fighting men, but the source of the wickedness in their hearts.

If you plant a seed and it grows, it will produce fruit. When Satan sows a seed of wickedness, it grows and it produces fruit. The person feeds on the poison and eventually begins to spread lies and falsehood as much as possible. The Bible talks about backbiting, about venom, about generation of vapors, and so on. We don’t know how an apple tree produces apples, and we don’t understand how a wicked heart produces wickedness either. The Bible is clear that the tongue has a lot to do with sowing, but also harnessing deceit.

The word of God can destroy every satanic device, and stronghold, and fortress. It has the authority, the power, and the ability to kill his seed. The word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). It sounds like something only God can do. People who are not saved can not wage war on that level, because the word of God is not in operation in their hearts. We must learn to forgive the person, while waging war on the satanic forces working behind the scenes.

Here are some practical ways to overcome the deceitful tongue:

1. Study your Bible daily
2. Speak in tongues
3. Pray continuously
4. Trust the Holy Spirit’s leading
5. Forgive the person
6. Be careful for nothing but in all things give thanks, as it is His will for your life

Prayer: Father, I thank you for my victory over the enemy and all his devices. I am no longer under the subjection of the deceitful tongue and no weapon formed against me shall prosper, not now, not ever, and every tongue that rises against me in judgment, shall be condemn. I lift up my brothers and sisters in Christ and I thank you for the protection that comes from the Holy Spirit. We come against the lies of the devil and we pray for their salvation, deliverance, and healing of the people trapped under the yokes of slavery of witchcraft. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
