That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;
– Isaiah 44:25
The wisdom of the wiseman is turneth backwards according to Isaiah 44:25. Today we have the Holy Spirit living in us, and we have direct access to the throne room and the spirit of wisdom. Our battle with witchcraft, therefore, is also a battle with the spirit of this age. The wisdom of this age can not be compared to the spirit of wisdom, neither to the realm of the wisdom of God. Those who call themselves wise are only wise in their own eyes. They see themselves as wise based on the worldly standards; but comparing to the wisdom of God, they won’t be able to stand. We see this with Moses in Exodus, and with Paul in the book of Acts.
How do we measure up to the spirit of this age? We must understand that we are in this world but we are not of the world. The wisemen of the age have a function in the social structure, and they will try to protect themselves from any new ideas. Without faith, these wisemen would see us as a threat to their power and would make everything possible to protect themselves. The Pharisees are the perfect example of the spirit of the age. They tried to destroy Jesus because they saw him as a threat. We must forgive everyone who refuses to accept the spirit of wisdom, and prayerfully walk away, trusting that God will change their hearts, leading them to the salvation power of Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Father, we pray for opening the eyes of those who are lost in the wisdom of this age, so they may see and turn their hearts and begin to follow Jesus instead of the wisdom of this age. Amen and amen.
