But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
– Revelation 21:8
Our journey in Hell continues with more sightseeing. Here we don’t see titles, or ranks, or positions with big bonuses. The Bible doesn’t specify the type of promotions its residents are entitled to. The rewards of being obedient are not clear. We can’t determine the hierarchy of needs, except for water, according the rich man’s request from Lazarus (Luke 16:24).
We can’t find malls and holiday shopping. There are no jingle bells across the sky, or stylish sweaters next to the Christmas tree. There seems to be an absence of restaurants and shops, or even a Main Street, except for the broad road that leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13-14).
On the bright side, there is no fear of loosing your job, or house due to the mortgage crisis. There is no need for car payments either. The children are not expecting presents. There are no vacation packages.
Prayer: Father, as we approach the end of the year, we ask for forgiveness for our sins, and for your mercy and guidance for the new year. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
