The Fearful VIII

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

– Revelation 21:8

Then the Thief walked in with a huge bag. ‘Look what I’ve got!’ he said to his people. ‘I stole a huge amount of money, using fraud and slander. I built pyramids and made innocent people suffer. I stole from the poor and rich alike, and I’m going to build you mansions, and make your names great.’

‘Papa, papa, what about Hell?,’ asked a little one. ‘Oh, don’t worry about that. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son.’

As they continue to unwrap the treasures in his bag, the Thief began to describe their substance. ‘This one belongs to a very special boy, but I took his talent and gave him poverty instead. Here, you can have it,’ and he passed it to a boy on his right. ‘This was the most precious possession of a girl, but she became very sick, so I took it and now it’s yours’, and he hand it over to the girl sitting on his left. The banquet was just starting, when a friend knocked at the door.

“Friend, lend me three loaves; For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?”

“Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I can not rise and give thee.”

Prayer: Father, thank you for every good gift. Even thou I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Amen.
