Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: That walk to go down to into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt! Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion. (Isaiah 30:1-3)
As we continue to unseat satan from the seat of authority that he has taken due to our fall in Eden, we begin to encounter people of power, authority, and dominion. Some have become experts in power, using vast array of resources, including demonic powers, magic, witchcraft of all sorts, manipulation, occultism, destiny diversion, deception, evil design schemes, and so on. They are ready to kill, to steal, and to destroy. The Bible mentions men skilled in destruction.
Just like any kingdom has an army, and all kinds of weapons, so does satan. His power lies in the power of knowledge of good and evil, of sin, of death, of destruction, and of confusion. He uses it skillfully and has no mercy, love, or faithfulness. He uses hate, jealousy, envy, and so on. He is not empowered by compassion, or goodness, but of power. He is after every form of power he can get his hands on. People are only tools in his hands.
Prayer: Father, as we begin to witness to men and women in places of authority, empower us to help them heal and receive deliverance from the brutality of the kingdom of darkness. Show them the way to salvation through Christ Jesus, so that them and their families can receive the Good News and hear and understand that the power that raised Jesus from the death lives in us. In Jesus Christ’s name, amen.
