Believer’s Authority In Action IV: Lucifer’s Seat Destroyed

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. – Psalm 14:1

What happens when your god dies?
Those who believe in man-made gods have weak faith. They spread wide, have no root and produce no fruit. They are simple, don’t ask questions, and don’t give a thought about the things of substance. Wisdom calls them but they refuse to follow her voice.

We are going to look at three types of people guilty of idolatry. They are as relevant today as they were when Moses led the Israelites through the Red Sea, and unfortunately for them they will share the same fate as did the Egyptians.

The people who worship gods: people who bow down to man-made gods, including money, status, possessions of all sorts. They are glued to a lifestyle that quenches the Holy Spirit and are unable to grow in the things of God.

The people who become gods: following the Egyptian gods, these people eventually become ‘gods’ in their own right, full of pride, lustful for power, putting their own interests above the will of God. Another example is celebrity-centered culture, where fame sets the cultural standard. This includes social media influencers and all their followers.

The people who make gods: in this category we find business savvy individuals who invest and represent ‘the gods’. Deliverance ministry defines them as soul-traders, sorcerers, magicians, etc.

Famous Biblical examples of people famous for their idolatry:

Nimrod and Babel

Aaron and the Golden Calf (Ex. 32:23)

Nebucadnezzer

Herod

Prayer: Father, I thank you for dismantling every form of idolatry in my life and setting me free from an idolatrous generation. In Jesus Christ’s name, amen.
