The Light Of The Diviners

And God said, “Let there be light, and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. Genesis 1:3-4


In Genesis 1:4 we find a light that is good. This means, there is a light that is not good. We find satan manifesting as an angel of light, but we all know that there is nothing good in satan, and all who feed on his light will find nothing good, only evil.

The word of God is light and it commands us to tests the spirits, if they are of God. Jesus said that whoever follows him will have the light of life (John 8:12). So we must be diligent and test the light, the type of light, because there is a light and a way that leads to death. All things work together for good for those who love the Lord. If we stumble, the Holy Spirit will rescue us. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them from all (Psalm 34:19).

When we enter the ministry of deliverance, we are protected and shield from the false light that comes from diviners, witches, wizards, witch doctors, false prophets, etc. They too carry a type of light. And sometimes it is a simple go the other way; or just do the opposite. It could be a simple whisper, or a gentle reminder of “look at me“. They may seem innocent at first but on the inside they are raging wolves ready to tear you apart.

What is the light of the diviners?

That frustrated the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise man backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish (Isaiah 44:25). So the first quality of the false light is “the lie“. All who practice falsehood live in a light that is not good, because you can’t build a life on a lie. It won’t stand the test of time. And if you lie, you will harvest lies. The lie will only lead to more lies until there is nothing but a lie. There is life in the light, but when the light is not good, the life is not good either.

The man who is faithful in the little things will be faithful in the big things, and the man who cheats in the little things will cheat in the big things too (Luke 16:10). This leads us back to the Qur’an where Abraham was preparing to sacrifice Ishamel (as opposed to Isaac) and God sent a ram in the bush.

The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment; for all who do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God (Deuteronomy 22:5). This is a description of ancient customs practiced by the nations surrounding Israel. And it is an example of a false light. The drag race is as relevant today, as when Moses wrote the Bible. As a matter of fact, there is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesia 1:9), and the same wrath that destroyed these nations can arise and destroy them also. God explicitly forbids these practices as abominable, yet the culture embraces them. Walk in love is the way to victory but we are not loving the person if we don’t acknowledge the error (sin), the falsehood, and bring the person under the true light, because the person will spend his/her life in a false light and then end up in hell. We can not afford to pity the person, we must show them the truth.

Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, practices divination or conjury, interprets omens, practices sorcery, / casts spells, consults a medium or spiritist, or inquires of the dead.(Deuteronomy 18:10-12). These ritualistic practices seem so far away in time, yet the battle with abortion is still going. The problem with divination is the spirit behind it. The spirit is the same. It doesn’t have an expiration date like the human body does. The Bible deals with the spirit, not the person, because the spirits are eternal, while the human beings are under the subjection of time. The manifestation of these spirits is what triggers the word of God. The word of God brings freedom and sets the captives free. Free from evil spirits that can not be driven otherwise.

The person longs for freedom.

How is divination practiced?

Examples include desire to know thoughts of others, channelling of spirits, fortune telling, use of charms crystal balls, tarot cards, palm readers, astrology, hypnotism, transcendental meditation, ouija boards, and so on.

What are some of the manifestations of the false light?

Drugs addictions, stubbornness, rebellion, insanity, jealousy, negative thoughts, suicide, torment, strife, cruelty, rage, perversion, and so on.

This brings us to the Good News. There is a light that is good. Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him (Psalm 34:8). Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
