I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you. – Joel 2:25
When we consider new beginnings, we think of something entirely new – something out of nothing type of thing. But God also does a work called restoration – bringing back to life what was lost and destroyed. God doesn’t only restore, he restores abundantly. Good news indeed!
When God created the world, he spoke it into existence, creating something new. The three-fold ministry of satan is to kill, to steal, and to destroy (John 10:10). He can not create. He is a thief, and a murder from the beginning (John 8:44). The good news is that Jesus came to restore, and to give life, and give it abundantly (John 10:10). Jesus is superior to the works of satan.
What Jesus does:
- Jesus gives life
- Jesus gives life abundanlty
- Jesus gives until it overflows
- Jesus can create out of nothing
- Jesus can bring back what was lost
- Jesus can raise the dead
- Jesus can restore what was destroyed
Praise the Lord!
Prayer: Father, I thank you for my life in Christ, where there is life and a life more abundantly. Hallelujah! In Jesus Christ’s name, amen.
