Good News Daily: Heaven’s Door

blessed shall you be in the field – Deuteronomy 28:3

When the will of God is released and received, He is watchful over his word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12). It would have been great if once we choose the will of God, life becomes easy and we never have to worry again, but often times, just the opposite takes place. Our fallen state assumes that He does not see what is happening to us, especially when it gets difficult. The blessing is hard to grasp and often misunderstood – sometimes the events that follow speak against it.

This is the story of Jacob. As soon as he got blessed, his life took a turn that led him to a very difficult place. He spent years working hard for the love of his life, got cheated, harassed, fled for his life, became estranged to his family, lost his home, etc. If you study the life of Jacob, it was full of hardship, yet he was blessed. Not only that, he became a blessing, and bestowed blessings on the next generations.

Prayer: Father, thank you for the blessing that makes rich and adds no sorrow. In Jesus Christ’s name, amen.
