so the crowd wondered, when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled healthy, the lame walking, the blind seeing. And they glorified the God of Israel – Matthew 15:31

As we look towards the finished works of Christ and his return, we may wonder what is God’s plan for our lives. We are called to glorify God and the works that bring Him glory are not only the works of our hands, but also His resurrection power.

Matthew 15:31 shows the works of Christ that brought glory to God – the mute spoke. We can begin by prayer and supplication for those in need – those who are mute and unable to speak. We can begin to petition on their behalf. Has sin infiltrated their lives to a point where they no longer speak? Were they born that way? Has the enemy worked his ways into their lives to a point where they are mute and unable to speak? Or perhaps, the angel of the Lord has closed their mouths like Gabriel did to Zechariah?

Spend time in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal to you who are the people who need prayer, the people who are mute and are no longer speaking. Can God open their mouths – absolutely! Join us in prayer, asking for the mute to speak.

Prayer: Father, we come before you to petition for all who are unable to speak. Open their mouths, so they may bring you glory. In Jesus Christ’s name, amen. Thank you, Holy Spirit!
