The crowd was amazed when they saw that people who could not speak before were now able to speak. The crippled were made strong. The lame could walk, and the blind could see. And they praised the God of Israel for this. – Matthew 15:31
Healing miracles are powerful witness of God, who is not only our Creator, but also our Healer. One of the greatest signs that separates the living God from religion is the power of healing. Religion is death – it can not heal, no matter how hard you try.
Healing power can draw crowds. What theology, sound doctrine, preaching and witnessing can not do in years, a healing miracle can accomplish in seconds, minutes, or hours. Sound doctrine keeps us in the faith, but a healing miracle opens the hearts of many. Something wonderful happens when healing takes place. Imagine seeing a loved one crippled, lame, unable to arise; someone you lost hope for, suddenly coming back to life. Words can not express the joy that flows from a healing. A restored life speaks louder than words. No wonder the crowd was amazed (Matt. 15:31)! If love had a voice, it would ask for healing before anything else.
Prayer: Father, as you lead us into your kingdom, make us a vessel of healing, and let miracles, signs and wonders, follow us, so that the crowds can come to you! In Jesus Christ’s name, amen. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
