Love does not envy – 1 Corinthians 13:4

Love does not envy. Jesus is love and there is no envy in him, only love. The power of envy comes from the enemy. We face envy in others, whose hearts are under the tyranny of satan’s dominion and his demons.

As Christians, we are called to set people free, not to judge but to deliver them from the grip of satan. His kingdom is well organized. The spirit of whoredom is a strongman that must be cast out and destroyed. It leads to uncleanness. Lust, envy, and jealousy follow and pollute people’s hearts. We face these spiritual forces in the spirit, not in the flesh. By praying for others, especially for those who hate and envy us, we give permission to the Holy Spirit to work in their hearts. Only God knows what is like to carry hate, envy, jealousy, etc.

Jesus has overcome and the power of love conquers.

Prayer: Father, strengthen us with your mighty hand, so when envy comes, we can face it without fear. Give us the wisdom to lead others to your deliverance power, and help us love them with the love you have shown us at the cross. In Jesus Christ’s name, amen. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
