Have Peace: Daily Devotionals

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33

In Christian sense, the peace of God, or the Prince of Peace, crushes satan under our feet. Love conquers, peace crushes. Peace is part of the armor of God – the shoes in Ephesian 6:15 are the gospel of peace. Sounds like the gospel of peace is the Prince of Peace.

The things of God are spiritual and supernatural. We don’t know how they work, because our flesh can not not perceive the things of the spirit. It’s our spirit that understands the spiritual things. We walk in love, wearing the shoes of peace. We bring good news, because the Bible says – how beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news (Romans 10:15). We leave tracks of beauty. Our steps are ordered of the Lord, and we leave steps that are marked by beauty.

When Jesus says “Follow Me“, sometimes we are led by His beauty. The heart of a Christian is open to beauty, it feeds on beauty, it craves beauty, and it understands the language of beauty. Our thoughts are held by higher standard – whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, praiseworthy, excellent, good report, etc. – leaving no place for evil. The word of God is our companion, the lamp at our feet, we meditate and ponder on it, making it part of our lives daily. We pray for those who persecute and despitefully use us, we bless and do not curse, and wage war against satan and his kingdom.

Father, thank you for the grace of beauty that leads to your kingdom. In Jesus Christ’s name, amen. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
