Love Daily: Boasting

it does not boast – 1 Corinthians 13:4

Boasting refers to speaking proudly. It comes from a proud heart. Love does not boast. We often encounter love through silence. God calls us to meditate, to ponder, and to think on the word of God.

It takes humility and a disciplined mind to resist the attacks of others, when things don’t seem to go well. When others get promoted, rewarded, and compensated; when they get rich, successful, powerful, while we who follow God are left behind. We get abandoned, mistreated, overlooked, regardless of how diligent, smart, and honest we might be. This is the test of time. Our true nature becomes visible, exposed, and open for others to see. We are tempted to complain, to make others look bad, to exalt ourselves. But God calls us to pray for them. Prayer requires silent mode, and real repentance on our behalf. Prayer brings us on our needs, when we are totally beat up by others, by circumstances, and by satan and his demons.

Prayer: Father, we are grateful for each and every opportunity to pray for others. In Jesus Christ’s name, amen. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
