Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, because they will be called sons of God” (Matthew 5:9)
When we experience the peace of God, we naturally begin to share it with others. It’s impossible to hide the joy and peace that come from the presence of God, because it is supernatural. The peace of God is not like the peace that this world gives; it comes from another world, or another dimension. Nobody can counterfeit it.
God makes us His children through His presence; and His peace is in the mark of His sons (Matt 5:9). It’s His Spirit that works in us; the Holy Spirit is within us, not outside us. Where Jesus dwells, the Holy Spirit also dwells and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
When Israel was getting ready to leave Egypt, they had to sacrifice a lamb per household and mark their doorposts with the blood of the lamb, so that when the angel of death would pass, it would spare their children. All the first born of the Egyptians died that night. Imagine the devastation – all first born, regardless of their age.
The peace of God works like the blood of them lambs on our hearts – regardless of what happens in the world, we are completely at peace because we have eternity ahead of us. This is why sharing Christ is so important – we want more people to get saved and receive the same protection from the forces of this world. The gospel of peace is Good News for all people – there is hope beyond this world, and we can all part-take of it.
Father, we thank you for the peace that surpasses all understanding – regardless what happens around us, we are under your protection. In Jesus Christ’s name, amen. Thank you Holy Spirit.
