Love does not dishonor others – 1 Corinthians 13:5
Love does not dishonor others. It honors them. When we walk in love, we show honor where honor is due and we don’t dishonor others. Love sees the best in others.
Jesus can transform any heart. The new testament destroys the old nature of Adam, replaces the death spirit, and rebuilds lives on Jesus as the cornerstone. There is no need of looking back, because the past is gone, along with the old man, who no longer exists.
The new is after the likeness of God. It’s the work of the Holy Spirit. It’s lovely and pure in nature. It longs to do the Father’s will. And it requires renewing of the mind.
The stumbling block for the old man is the word of God. The old man can not understand the things of the spirit. When we feed on the word of God daily, we become more like Jesus. We can inwardly hear the voice of God and intuitively know what to do. We have no desire to put others down, on the contrary – we lift them up in prayer and supplication and giving of thanks. We can not expect the same from them – they don’t have Jesus on the inside.
Father, thank you for our salvation. Help us lift others in prayer, so they may find Jesus and receive him as their Lord and Savior. In Jesus Christ’s name, amen. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
