so that you may be children of your Father in heaven. For he causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. – Matthew 5:45
Joy is fruit. It has to be planted, nurtured, and allowed to blossom and grow. You can not expect to be joyful before the time is right. There is reason we need patience when we walk with God. We can not rush the process. The enemy comes for the seed.
Anyone familiar with gardening knows that growth happens naturally and works with nature. The enemy comes to destroy what was planted by God and replace it with his seeds. My Father is the husbandman (John 15:1). For he causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. (Matthew 5:45)
Our generation loves to shorten the growth cycle – it wants everything now. We can go to the supermarket and buy fruits regardless of what season we are in. There are scientific methods to grow produce faster and at any time of the year. We eat and are full, but is it tasteful? Do you enjoy every bite or does it taste the same? Can you tell the difference?
Father, thank you for being patient with us as we are patient with others. In Jesus Chris’s name, amen. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
