Most of the brothers have gained confidence in the Lord from my imprisonment and dare even more to speak the word fearlessly. – Philippians 1:14
Our hardest battles can turn into a triumph for us and for all who are in Christ. Testimonies can encourage others and increase their faith. The Bible is full of testimonies by those who have overcomed, conquered and prevailed against the odds. When we need courage to share Christ, we find it in the word of God.
A ministry assignment may be in a missionary field, but it could also be in the ordinary circumstances – in your own home. Raising a child is a God-ordained ministry for every parent. There is no point of sharing Christ with a person on the other part of the world, and not be a good example to your child. Your family is just as important if not more important than the rest of the world. If you see yourself in heaven, while your husband, children, and parents are in hell, what good is that to you?
Suffering for Christ does not necessarily mean being captured in a remote island, surrounded by ingenious people. God can place you in your own home, next to a husband and children who need your prayers, good meals, and clean clothes. No assignment is too small or too great in the eyes of God. If your calling is to be a housewife who never had to be on the pulpit, then be the best housewife you can ever be, and make it to heaven, rather than become a spokesperson of Christ and go against God’s will. Be prayerful when asking God to reveal His will for your life, and follow it diligently even if that means staying at home and caring for your family needs.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I am willing to submit to your will even if your will goes against my personal expectations. Your plan is different for each and every person, and I shouldn’t be asking for something that is not part of your plan for my life. Thy will be done, not mine – amen. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
