Whatsoever things are lovely – Philippians 4:8

It’s not easy to find things that are lovely if you are constantly bombarded with the cares of this world. Love is difficult to master, let alone lovely.

Have you tried to win the love and attention of a child? For some reason, children are exceptionally honest. If they don’t like you, they will let you know and then they will also let their parents know, and most likely everyone else they meet. They might scream and yell, and do all kinds of other childish things.

Nobody likes spoiled children. Children that lack discipline and respect for the adults. If the parents have no respect for the elderly, neither will their children.

Solomon was a great king and the son of a great king. When Rehoboam inherit his throne, he showed little to no concern for the elders in his court. He chose the advice of his contemporaries. Rehoboam was the beginning of the decline of David’s house reign. He was not walking on the path of his grandfather. Solomon wrote the book of Proverbs. He left a great wealth but his own son didn’t inherit his wisdom. It is a bitter-sweet truth we can all learn from.
