And I pray this: that your love will keep on growing in knowledge and every kind of discernment – Philippians 1:9

Love grows in and through knowledge and discernment. You’ve probably heard the saying “The more you know, the more you know that you don’t know“. This sounds logical but the truth and the matter is, although knowledge may be infinite, there is joy in understanding. Imagine the feeling of discovering the cure for an unknown disease or solving mathematic problem that would unlock a next level solution for the human race.

When we apply what we’ve learn and begin to use our gifts in the right direction, we reach the place of realized dreams. Joy is there! God gives us dreams and equips us to bring them to fruition, but it’s up to us to grow in knowledge and discernment. Paul prayed the prayer for us all, and it’s when we walk in the obedience of God’s word that we become the answer to Paul’s prayer.

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life. (Proverbs 13:12) Some things take time, and some trial and error. Don’t let the fear of the unknown stop you from using your gifts. Let God be the judge, not the nay-sayers. Faith can overpower every discouragement, fear, and doubt. Faith works by love (Gal. 5:6), and love grows in knowledge and discernment (Phil. 1:9).

Father, in the name of Jesus, I will step out in faith into the unknown and accomplish all my dreams. Amen. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
