Love Daily: Victory

Love never fails. – 1 Corinthians 13:8

When love turns into power, there is nothing that can stop it. Culture portraits love as a broken-hearted experience full of sorrows. But that is only the beginning.

Brokeness is not a shameful experience, pride is. God is never going to resist a broken heart. Brokeness attracts his presence, because God is the God of all comfort. Going through the pain of being sold, abandoned, betraid, lied to; being used and then thrown in the mud; being spit on, bruised, crushed, are all picks of Jesus’ ministry. God is an expert of pain – he was crucified on a cross. Jesus knows what sorrow is. He wept.

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. (Matthew 23:14) The cross should never scare us, because Jesus conquered it. There are times and seasons when the cross is necessary, but the resurrection will always follow.

If you are going to follow love, you will experience the cross but victory is sure. Where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. (1 Corinthians 13:8) Amen.

Thank you, Holy Spirit.
