Christ is proclaimed, and in this I rejoice. – Philippians 1:18

The beauty of the joy that Paul describes is its source – Christ. If you’ve ever come across joy that is faked, especially among witches, you’ll understand why Paul was so excited about Christ being proclaimed.

Joy is the fruit of the spirit, it is supernatural and it is the real thing. There is no deception in Him, only truth, and it’s the everlasting truth, tested by fire. The world gives us the image of happiness but happy is not the joy that Paul describes. You can be happy without having the fruit of joy, but you can’t be joyful without the spirit.

People are not interested in eternal life because without revelation of Christ, people can’t go that far. When Christ is proclaimed, people are introduced to something from a different world and the more they learn, the closer they get to the door.
