whatsoever things are just – Philippians 4:8
Imagine walking in a room and a painting is hanged sideways, the couch is facing the door as opposed to the TV screen, and the chairs are upside-down next to the dining table. That is how an unjust mind sees the world. It makes no sense. It doesn’t take intuition, special knowledge, or a degree in interior design to understand that some things are not in order.
God is not the author of confusion. He is the God of order. From Genesis to Revelation, God establishes an order. He is not going to command us to do something if we are not capable of doing it.
There is however a spirit of perversion. It comes from the kingdom of darkness and it perverts everything. We are to guard our hearts. Everything that aligns with injustice, being social, political, aesthetic, etc. is not according to the will of God. Every form of distortion, no matter how crafty presented, must be rejected and resisted, because it is not from God.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I choose to fix my eyes and mind on things that are just. Help me Holy Spirit to make a covenant with my eyes that will reject everything that does not come from the Father. Amen. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
