And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. – Mark 5:34

Peace is a sign of a healed heart and a healthy soul. People without needs are those who walk in peace. It is not a common thing. Peace sets us apart. Just like oil does not mix with water, so do people who walk with peace can not blend with those who wrestle with their own sinful nature.

To walk in peace is to have the assurance of the finished works of Christ. Even after receiving the salvation message of Jesus in our hearts, it takes time before we can see the manifested works in Christ in our lives. The reason being, the Holy Spirit must take hold of the soul. The soul is our mind, our will, and our emotions. Each component needs healing. The mind needs to be renewed, our will has to submit to the will of God, and our emotions must be connected to the fruit of the spirit. Christians often refer to the old nature, or the old man; it’s the part of us that has been trained to follow, think and feel independently of God.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, help me remain patient while the Holy Spirit continues to work in every part of my life. In Jesus Christ’s name, amen.
