Love Daily: Adoption

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. – Matthew 1:18

Love adopts. It doesn’t only save, it provides and cares. We are all sinners before our salvation. Some are bigger sinners than others, but once we step in the kingdom of God, we leave the past behind and begin a brand new life in Jesus Christ. Not all beginnings are easy – we have to subdue the old nature with all its fits of carnality, and not only that but we are also to drive out demons, deal with generational curses, environmental witchcraft, and satan himself. We face demonic kingdoms, powers and principalities. Life is all together beautiful on the inside, but on the outside is a different story.

This is where Mary and Joseph found themselves. They both understood the supernatural nature of Mary’s pregnancy. They had angelic visitation, confirming that the baby is from the Holy Ghost and is the promised Messiah. What a wonderful promise! But this was an insider’s information. There were still many things to happen before the promise was fulfilled. Joseph wasn’t really the father – he was expected to marry a pregnant woman and be the father of someone elses’ child, and even if Jesus was to become the savior of the people, Joseph wasn’t going to receive the honor of what was about to be accomplished. They had to flee to Egypt because of Herod’s rage, and start as a family in a foreign country, with a baby born for a special use of God. Joseph and Mary probably had a humble beginning as a couple who just wanted to get married. But life took a different direction.

This is what love looks like once you encounter Jesus – it becomes supernatural, full of surprises, filled with power from the Holy Ghost. Our lives are radically changed. There are adventures, some dangerous, others not so. We are constantly challenged and our characters developed. And it all begins on the inside.

Prayer For Salvation

Lord Jesus, I am sorry for my sins. Come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Amen.
