Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem – Matthew 2:1
To walk on the path of love is the wise thing to do, because love is the path to victory. Wisdom is mysterious and there are only a few who find it. If you spend your entire life learning to make wise choices, it is a life well-lived.
Wisdom does not take anything for granted, yet people take wisdom for granted. Wisdom can not be fabricated, or cheated. It was the wisdom of the serpent that satan used to bring Adam down. It was true back then and it is still true today. Many kingdoms run on the wisdom of the serpent, and many lives are destroyed because of it. Satan has been around longer than any of us, including Adam, and it is only because of the grace of God that we are still alive. It is in the nature of of satan to destroy, and he would destroy any- and everything if it wasn’t for God’s intercession.
God still instructs us to be wise as serpents (Matthew 10:16). Wisdom is still dominant, but it has joined love. Be wise as serpents and innocent as dove (Matthew 10:16). Love is like dove – innocent and free. And dove represents the Holy Spirit. When Jesus was born, the wise men came to see a baby. It is the perfect picture of wisdom meeting love! A baby has no wisdom at all. It is the elderly that carry wisdom, and they have the responsibility to teach the younger how and when to use wisdom. The younger generations must respect and follow the elders, because it is the wise thing to do. God has set things up, and we are to follow the order. Thank God for it!
Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I am grateful for all the wisdom I have received through other people. Teach me how to appreciate them and love them more! Amen. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
