Jesus Daily: Christ Proclaimed

Only that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is proclaimed, and in this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice – Philippians 1:18

Let God arise and his enemies be scattered! Hallelujah!

We proclaim Christ in word and in deed. Actions speak louder than words. But there are times when silence accomplishes the work. When everyone is quick to speak, the Holy Spirit may lead to silence.

In times of need of counsel, God can choose to be silent. We are not to speak if God does not speak. It is not our job to proclaim when God is silent. It is not our job to answer if God has not given an answer. Be still and know I am God.

How and when to answer is the Holy Spirit’s job. Our job is to be obedient when is inconvenient. When we feel like speaking and God is silent. There is joy that comes from obedience. Joy gives us assurance that the work of the Lord is being done. This joy is not from our works, but from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our guide, not the spirits of this world. The Holy Spirit bears witness of our works and separates the works of the flesh.

Father, let your silence become a dividing wall between me and all who seek to destroy your works in my life. In Jesus Christ’s name, amen.
