Patience For Tests & Trials

out of the house of bondage – Exodus 20:2

When God begins to tests our hearts, he does it throught his word. We don’t know exactly how it works, aside from the analogy of sowing and reaping. Some things begin to happen to us, in us, and around us and often they can not be explained because they go against logic and human reasoning and understanding. This is when patience is needed the most. Patience with ourselves, and with the people around us.

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). If we are in a season of pruning, the word of God will cause some things to fall apart, habits to change, people to exit our lives making room for others to enter. We have the boldness to make life-changing decisions, to confront situations that seem impossible to overcome, to face circumstances we could never handle in our own strength, etc. Life enters a supernatural flow, a flow of blessings and not curses.
