Thou shalt tread upon the lion and the adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. – Psalm 91:13
As we learn to trample daily, we are to follow the Holy Spirit and expect a confirmation through the word of God. We shouldn’t just randomly walk in the enemy’s camp expecting that he submits to our authority. He has power and he will fight back until our dominion is established.
There are some explanation as to who we fight against – there is the lion and the adder. Who is the lion and who is the adder? A lion is a head of a kingdom. The lion is also a type of power that needs to be subdued and defeated. The lion can be related to a pride – a family of lions is a family of kingship. Jesus comes from the tribe of Judah, and is known as the lion of Judah. There are kingdoms and they have lions leading them. The Bible often shows that God uses lions – for good and for bad to deliver his purpose. Daniel was thrown in the den of lions. He survived but those who set the trap for him were eaten by the same lions that spared Daniel.
The lions are not to be messed with. When they attack, they destroy, they eat, and they conquer. They are powerful and should not be provoked or angered. God has placed them where they belong, and he does not tells us to attack them. On the contrary – we are to be innocent as doves. In the old testament the prophets sent by God were eaten by lions for their disobedience to God’s instructions. Children were eaten by lions for mocking God’s prophet. Lions are important to God’s purpose, and we can not just change the order that God has set up before we were born.
Submit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. Amen. Our responsibility is to follow the word of God, not the devises of the enemy, and by doing so he will have no choice but to leave.
